Hockey Fights Cancer with the Ottawa Senators

It was an incredible night in Ottawa seeing 20,000 fans shine a light in support of Nash and many other patients battling cancer.

Cancer is not a battle fought alone and that was evident during the Ottawa Senators Hockey Fights Cancer night. So much support in many different ways. Fans joined Canadian Blood Services stem cell registry, others booked an appointment to donate blood or plasma and over $188,000 was raised to help support those battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The heartwarming and powerful tribute video of the late Brian Fraser perfectly captured the importance of giving blood, plasma and stem cells while displaying the courage and resiliency of patients and their families.

Every sixty seconds someone in Canada needs blood with 17,000 units of blood needed each week.
