It was another productive and meaningful season for Hockey Gives Blood Player Ambassadors and teams across Canada in support of Canadas’ Lifeline. Teams nationwide hosted game nights while Player Ambassadors took to the community to give blood, plasma and join the stem cell registry.
Throughout the 2023/24 season, teams from the Canadian Hockey League and USPORTS hosted over 30 game nights in support of Canadian Blood Services. These events provided thousands of fans the live opportunity to recognize recipients and milestone donors through ceremonial face-offs, and to be inspired by incredible stories that resonate across the country. The in game recognition also showcased the, often unknown, group and individual contributions being made by Player Ambassadors in each community. This spotlight on the hockey community's nurturing and supportive ethos showcased stories of resilience and inspiration that we hope will ensure a robust donor base in Canada through added donor awareness.
The steadfast leadership of the Player Ambassadors and the unwavering passion for Hockey Gives Blood continues to expand nationwide. The efforts of our Player Ambassadors to connect with fans of all ages is essential to inspiring the next generation of donors and remains our greatest source of pride. Together, we are making a significant impact being one of the top Partners for Life teams in the country.
